Thank you for the question regarding the book “Why Nations Fail”. I will resort to several additional helping questions. (1) Why compare the countries devastated by the Arab Spring with the USA? The economic, political, social situation in those countries and the USA is completely different. (2) Was the Arab Spring an experiment generated by external forces? (3) Was it worth trying it? (4) Cui bono (for whose benefit)? According to Amnesty International, many hoped that this “Arab Spring” would bring in new governments that would deliver political reform and social justice. But the reality is more war and violence, and a crackdown on people who dare to speak out for a fairer, more open society. This is my brief comment for the time being.
I mention this book did not see the Arabic Spring. The main example in this book about the city of Nogales and that part of it in USA and other parts of Mexico. Author inclusive political institutions as the creator of the difference on both sides of the border between the city knows. Rejecting the theory of economic and deals with examples from different countries to explain his theory. I received this summary.
