My lab studies brain tissues that have been fixed in Paraformaldehyde. We usually use a noncanonical amino acid ANL paired with Alexa Fluor 647 alkyne in click chemistry/FUNCAT reaction. Our control mice were never given the ANL and yet still have comparable fluorescence to our experimental mice.

I do not understand why this is.
