I am preparing Chitosan nanocomposites with calcium family nanofillers, but calcium is dissolving in acetic acid, the only best solvent for solution casting of chitosan. What should I do?
@Qijin - > Ca may be stable at this pH but chitosan is not soluble :-) No idea how phosphate buffer is compartable wtih calcium-containing nanofillers, but in reality neutral solutions (pH=7-7.1) of chitosan are known and need addition of beta-glycerophosphate.
@Sarang -> chitin is soluble in trifluroethanol, hexafluroisopropanol and hexafluoroacetone hydrate. Chitosan may be soluble too.
