There are two possibilities: 1) There is some serious leakage in the vacuum line and 2) Vacuum pump oil label is low. vacuum pump display it speed based on the quantity of vacuum created.
Corrective measures:
1) check if the vent valve of MS is opened
2) Check the hose pipe connected from pump to the MS
3) Check the oil label in the vacuum pump.
4) still a problem? Call the maintenance engineer.
Also check that the roughing pump (a little diaphragm pump somewhere deep inside probably) in the GCMS is working - the turbo will never come up to full speed if it's exhaust is at too high a pressure.
The turbo is almost certainly a maintenance-free item. Do not attempt to dismantle it.
The 5975 uses an oil-free roughing pump, so don't bother checking for oil-levels there either.
I'd just make sure that the roughing pump is working and that you have no gross leaks.
I have same problem But I dont Know why it happens
I installed new column and keep one end (MS side) open for the purpose of cleaning and i run on GCMS and Agilent software. At the Beggining the Turbo speed was increasing but after reaching 70% is start to decrease and Now 0.9-1% and continuing. The GCMS is working. However, Before new column installed it was working nicely.
Please suggest me. How to fix this problem to get 100% turbo speed.
