Hi all

According to ASCE-7-2010 sec. 12.3.4 if one wants to determine the redundancy factor {RHO}, we should calculate the ratio height / length of a shear wall {H/L-to show if the wall is squat or not } , while the height is defined as the H of one story ,and not the total height .where does it come from ?

why do not we considered the total height of the shear wall ?
