The obvious source of information about female orgasm should come from the experiences of women themselves. But few researchers are brave enough to ask women about their experiences of orgasm. Women themselves accept that they are not qualified to speak on the topic. Female sexologists quote from textbooks rather than refer to any personal experience. Knowledge about female orgasm is treated as a specialist topic that has to be defined by a ‘qualified’ person. Theories are treated like gospel.
