I wanted to convert tablespoon measurements into grams in excel (for a whole column), however, it didn't work and gave me an error, so is there any way to convert liquid measurements to mass measurements in excel?
You can't convert tablespoons to grams directly since they measure volume and mass respectively. Fortunately, it's easy if you know the density or have a conversion chart (link below). Since 1 US tablespoon of sugar is 12.6 grams, you could write a formula like =12.6*A2 (if your tablespoon value column is A and then you paste down in your new column. Since 1 US tablespoon of water is 14.787 grams, it's =14.787*A2. It's also a little tricky because a tablespoon is slightly different in US, UK, and SI units. Density also varies by temperature and altitude. For cooking, these variations wouldn't matter, but for some scientific uses you might need to be more precise. Hope this helps, Samia! ~ Kevin
