Palgrave Macmillan published my book in 2022. The book has 8 chapters but for some reason, I get reports that readers - over 2,500 - only read one particular chapter of the book. I am not sure about the explanation for such a trend.

The large difference in "Reads" between the chapters is indeed strange. The most popular chapter (https://www.researchgate.net/publication/357510053) is cited in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ochanja_market, and perhaps also elsewhere. This could be an explanation of the interest. Or its topic is of great interest - cf. https://www.researchgate.net/search.Search.html?query=Onitsha&type=publication. But it can also be an artifact of the behaviour of a bot or something like that.
