The definition of IoT is "The internet of things, or IoT, is a system of interrelated computing devices, mechanical and digital machines, objects, animals or people that are provided with unique identifiers (UIDs) and the ability to transfer data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction." Therefor, Why do we need a three-factor authentication between a mote and the user while the IoT is based on devices taking without a computer or a user interaction?
still, there is no standard architecture is approved by any organization for IoT, end-user not familiar with how to use IoT, software and updates are released not on time, so IoT security big so this regards 3 layers of authentication are used for legitimate user and avoid from hackers.

IoT is very unsecure. You can get rogue sensors, etc. Also mind the OSI layer where the IOT resides. Authentication is required also at the transmission layer, protocol layer and data layer, in addition to the final user authentication.
