Is this a matter of just learning, or some other factors? What are the prerequisites for the emergence of these individuals?
Let me be clear, by super talented individuals I mean those who had wonderful genius in interdisciplinary areas of science. For example Bu-Ali Sina had genius in variety of areas including medicine, philosophy, astronomy, alchemy, geology, mathematics, physics, logic, and psychology without having any previous prototype to learn from. He was able to cure patients when he was only 6 years old; this is not an ordinary talent. Another example is Plato whose areas of genius were in mathematics, logic, philosophy, ethics, rhetoric, religion and some others. I believe that the world sees these individual rarely.
Showing some noticeable talence in multidisciplinary stuffs might get a little rough, nowadays. You need to pay attention that, within the older eras, the depth of scientific fields were not so considerable and that was rather possible for a genius to get into some of them. But recently, after the massive information exclusion in the science, one might stick to a particular scientific stuff for new achievements.
As an instance, Newton worked on mechanics, thermodynamics and etc. but Einstein just was engaged with the Modern physics. Plato's ideas about the philosophy was approximately something new with just a trivial prior works, whereas new philosophers have to study more than 2000 years history of philosophy to be able to present something novel.
All in all, I assert the new geniuses are as talent as the former ones, if they don't really exceed!
