Behaviourally men have been systematically urged to be a / the dominant body. The male-over-female influence is nothing new and has been for centuries indoctrinated into generation after generation ie. The male is the breadwinner, provider and so on, and the female deals with in-home, children etc, and so naturally the sexual part of this goes with it. There is also room to look at misogynistic and cultural behavioural traits, some of which are still seen and practised in many countries worldwide.

In a loving consensual situation ie marriage or relationship, I would say that to a point men have an advantage insomuch that if they have a pulse they are horny (most of the time barring sickness etc) and have the need or want to breed or to coin a colloquialism "spread seed" is at the forefront of their mind (yes me included) either consciously or subconsciously. whereas women need more coaxing and things have to be correct and done in a way that satisfies them romance caressing etc. the way to understand this is to say a man is a diesel train and a lady more a steam-fired engine. There's nothing wrong with that it just means that technically the human race should not even exist. men need sex to feel loved and women need to be loved to feel they can have sex. so, from this, it could be said that all human life begins with a lie?

psychologically for the male it's about Egocentricity and the need to hear they are at the very least "satisfactory" to their partner. However in a relationship I would hope that there is a level of mutual exploration and a want to please all parties involved. Where casual sex occurs I would suggest it is more of a carnal / physical need rather than an emotional one.

My own conclusion is that intercourse originates as a male assault - in terms of what we see in nature. This is due to the proactive nature of male sex drive and the sexual passivity of the female due to lack of arousal (and sex drive). Lovemaking is an artificial construct that has been adopted to allow a woman to keep a man tied into a relationship with her and to support her family goals (or to share affectionate companionship). The eroticism that men enjoy comes from the fact that sex is inherently a domination/submission scenario. Women rarely talk of eroticism and often fail to understand what it means to men. Sex is a contradiction in this way. Women look for emotional rewards while men look for erotic rewards.

The female role is simply to facilitate male orgasm. Women feel very little from intercourse so they focus on upper body lovemaking - kissing and caressing. Men are territorial and want to feel appreciated through sex. If a woman lies there like a dead body, a man feels that his lovemaking is not pleasing her. This is natural.
