Diversity Partitioning methods (Additive and multiplicative) is one of the most popular method that using for assessment of diversity patterns in different scales (temporal or spatial). I have study the impact of animal grazing on plant diversity components in different spatial scales.
I analyzed my data by both additive and multiplicative methods, but each of these methods showed different pattern. e.g. the additive partitioning showed that regional diversity components had the highest contribution to total diversity, while the multiplicative method indicate that local diversity component had the highest contribution to total diversity.
Does anyone know that why my data have different results in these methods?
Or which methods is better for determine conversational scales?
I gratefully thank anyone that help me or introduce any useful reference about this topic.
