Although, the frequency range of 1 kHz - 15 kHZ lies in audible noise region, yet in most of the Carrier based PWM Multi-level Inverters (MLIs), the carrier frequency is selected within 1 kHz - 15 kHz. These frequency creates noise in the Inverter control circuit. Can anyone please explain why this frequency range is mostly selected? Is it only because, with high frequency, the switching power loss is greater?
