The file cannot be found when plugging the HMD to the computer
The APK file is built on unity and its working except that the recorded data is not written on the Quest
I changed the manifest in unity and used WriteAlltext(Application.persistent DataPath)
The main reason is often that you need to restart your Quest before the file is visible. Usually you can write and read the file while the application is running, but if you want to copy the file to your PC while the Quest is connected, a restart of the headset is necessary.
You also need to include the WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission in your manifest, but I assume that's what you meant when you mentioned the manifest. Hope this helps.
Thank you for your response @Sebastian Koenig..yes I added the external storage permission..and actually restarted the quest several times but still the file cannot be written
Then your first goal should be to be able to access the file from within Unity (i.e. read the file after it was written), as this seems to work even without the file not being visible via PC connection. Can you test your code on a normal Windows build and see whether the file writing works there? You've got the key issues sorted (using Application.persistentDataPath and using the correct permission), so it's probably some other detail in your code. You could also post on the Unity forums or Stackoverflow which are probably better places for technical Unity questions. All the best.
Hi Fatma Fathy, I don't know if you already found a solution to your problem. I agree with Sebastian that Unity Forums and Stackoverflow would be a better place for you to find a solution. I don't know if you try this, but you might have to give a path for it
Something like - path = Application.persistentDataPath + " ./Data/yourfile.txt ";
After recording you should restart the Quest, then the data should show up on file explorer.
