The traditional definition of a "user" is changing. The old/current definition of user can be found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_(computing).

In IoT and IoE, there shall be autonomous devices and humans existing in parallel. Autonomous systems will be quite intelligent, automatic and adaptive. These IoT devices will be similar to humans when requesting, logging, receiving data/information from other devices and making decisions. However, there will also be IoT devices which are not-so-smart but need to exist just to process, receive or pass data/info. Many times these devices (like phones) act on behalf of humans only.

As we evolve into new intelligent world, the difference between human and machine (in many cases) is becoming narrower. However, it is necessary for us to distinguish, control and hold accountable to these entities (humans and devices) in regards to actions, ethics, privacy, safety etc.

There is a need for new definition of user -- and need also to separate between human and machine.

What can be a new definition of user?
