I am trying to start a small research on the reception and diffusion of academic research amongst political actors. More concretely, I would like to research the influence that research on social movements has on just those movements - does it create attention for them, does it provide (indirectly, of course) resources or political opportunities, does it provide counter-intelligence for containment? But, it seems that there is hardly any research in this field. Can anyone help me with studies that already exist or theories that apply to this question?
