Who agrees Marx was a localist who believed in negative utilitarianism? How? Why? My answer: The Nordic countries(Finland, Sweden, and Norway), as maybe the ideal countries for Marxism, are all localists(socialist on local governmental levels). And localism has the least control of individuals over other individuals. Thus, the way to execute Marxist ideals is negative utilitarianism and localism.
"Workers of the World Unite!" Marx dedicated his life to making links between groups of workers separated by nation and language and argued that capitalism could only be ended at the level of the whole, i.e., the world. That was about as internationalist as you can get. Because he drew up no plans for post-capitalist society, but left that to workers, he was neither "localist" nor "transnationalist" (if that's the opposite) with regard to what they would build beyond capitalism.
