Kevin DANDE Otieno, pumping comes into play in case there is height difference between the two points and the energy requirement will depend on the pump you choose for the job. So you need to know how high you intend to pump the wastewater before procuring the pump.
@Nicholas,, what if the place is leveled? Just from one tank to another. Let's say from a preliminary treatment>aeration tank> intermediate tank> storage tank.
@Kevin Dande, the type of pump to be used depends on the task to be carried out. Based on experience in a plant I worked in years ago, centrifugal pump was in used throughout the plant.
But the best way to select a pump is to determine its characteristics and link it up your your tasks details to see if it will meet up your goal.
Also in using solar to power the pump is important the important parameter is the Voltage at which the pump will operate. So when selecting a pump to be used with solar, the solar panels voltage have to be sufficient enough to power the pump. Below are things I think you should take note of; Duration of the operation of the pump (how long will it operate).
And Availability of the sun or reliable energy storage when sun is not shining.
