I am willing to do natural fiber composites of windmill blades with Prosopis juliflora and water Hyacinth fibers with pp or any resin. Any suggestions for the types of resin or polymer used? Types of testing required? Types of manufacturing method?
Fibers with highest tensile strength are flax, hemp and abaca. Avoid severe mechanical treatment of the fibers which could damage the fibers. Use curing resins such as UP (unsaturated polyester) or better epoxy. The finer the fibers the higher the specific surface for good fiber -matrix-adhesion. Be sure to have the fibers well dried before compounding.

Flax is the best reinforcement among natural fibres in terms of mechanical properties. The study in the attachment by Darshil U. Shah examined the same question. He used flax+polyester.
