I begin a modelling investigation for immiscible liquid-liquid phase equilibrium such as water-octane.I realize that CPA EOS is not accurate enough for these systems. Which version of SAFT equation of state is suitable for these systems?
At some point I tried to play a bit with SAFT EOS, so, this is a comment from a beginner:
It can be widely used to describe different types of hydrocarbons, but for water it is difficult to have good description with most of the SAFT versions. However, there are many groups which have studied the water case. This article reviewd some of them:
The LLE of water + hydrocarbon systems are very challenged to describe. For the SAFT type EoS, that's very difficult to confirm which is most suitable for, but I know that soft-SAFT could capture the minimum of water solubility, PC-SAFT might be the best one, and also, the GC-PC-SAFT could also reproduce the LLE of these systems - not very good but acceptable.
