We need to find out the coefficient of discharge for oscillating helium-4 flow for GM type pulse tube cryocooler. We want to measure this oscillating velocity so that we can measure actual flow rate at the section of interest. Which velocity measuring device will be suitable for this application? The flow reverse cyclically/periodically from 8 bar to 22 bar as helium compressor is driver of the setup.
Sir, I have inquired about coriolis mass flow meter but the response time taken by them is quite long than our pressure change. We want pressure to switch from 8 bar to 22 bar and from 22 bar to again 8 bar in maximum time of 1 second. because frequency of the device is 1-4 Hz. So, we are not getting required mass flow measuring device for our setup. The only problem with those device are long response time. Is there any more suggestion from your side?
Hot wire/ film anemometry allows obtain a precise velocity measurements in clear unsteady fluid. But a probe calibration can be a tedious task.
Yes Hot wire anemometer is the best instrument for unsteady velocity measurement. but you need to check weather you can use it for He or not... secondly unsteady multihole probes are also one of the alternative. but again the working fluid medium you needs to be check.
