The choice of fruit/ tree crops to plant in hard rocky soil will depend on the rooting systems ,such soils are shallow in depth and tree crops such as oil palm, coconut and fruit crop such as pineapple willperform well because of their fibrous roots while crops with tap roots such ascashew, mango,avorcado pea kola nut will survive for sometime until their roots touch baseline rocks and they begin to wither and die off
Any shallow rooted fruit tree can be tried. Planting them in pits by putting good garden soil is suggested. Because of limitations the plant may not grow to full size due to limitations, which, however the plant will try to overcome in due course.
