I studied that the ITO coated glass slides are good for solar cell applications but the literature servey for Perovskite Solar Cell turned out that the majority of articles were reported with an FTO coated glass slide.
Now I am confused here as I am working with the Perovskite Solar Cells.

If your process involves high temperatures (>250 C), it is better choice to use FTO instead if ITO because ITO loses its conductivity at high temperatures.

ITO films have low thermal stability as compared to FTO films.so mostly researchers uses FTO for better thermal stability. FTO hole-injecting electrode results in more light produced at a given voltage than for ITO,Also In the visible region, the optical transmission of FTO is high (»90 %) and independent of the fluorine doping which concludes that it is most suitable for perovskite solar cell fabrication. One of the most important characteristic of this particular FTO is that the surface is very flat, as studied by AFM, in contrast to the surfaces of various ITO electrodes, which can have very high degrees of roughness.

Substrates must be highly transparent (transparency > 80%)
to allow the passage of maximum sunlight to the active area
of the cell.Theelectrical conductivity of the substrates should
also be high for efficient charge transfer and to minimize
energy loss.These two characteristics of substrate dictate the
efficiency of solar cell. see the ref.

FTO has some advantages over ITO as the colleagues above hinted:
-It is more transparent
- It has lager conductivity
- It is more stable against heating and environment
- Indium can diffuse to the adjacent layers altering their characteristics
- it is less expensive

ITO films have a transmittance of over 80%
and sheet resistance 18Ω/cm2, while FTO films exhibit a
transmittance of about 75% in the visible region and sheet
resistance of 8.5/cm2. Sima et al. conducted a study to
compare FTOand ITO basedDSSCs. Photoanodes based
on FTO and ITO glass substrates were sintered at 450∘C
for 2h in an oxygen atmosphere.They found that the sheet
resistance of FTO remained constant, while that of ITO
