During my reviews for conferences that require Springer format, I often encounter submissions that were inadvertently formatted in IEEE style. In such cases I have to decide whether they can be reformatted while maintaining the specified page limit. I have learnt that such a reformatting to Springer style approximately doubles an IEEE paper. What is your experience?

I asked this question because I still need to know how long a foreign IEEE formatted document approximately is extended after a style change to Springer format.
