I want to access different nitrogen fractions under diversified crop rotation (involved cereals, legumes, fodders) and varying nutrient management practices ( mineral and organic). Please suggest me precise and standard methodology that includes all the N pools/fractions.
Hi, I did not practice it since 40 years, but I think you should find normalized methods in reference soil science books.
Dr.Yadav,you can determine both inorganic and organic nitrogen fractions in your samples.Inorganic forms NO3 and NH4 are extracted with 2 M KCl and estimated(several options are there).Organic N fractions are estimated by Keeny,D.R. and Bremner,J.M.1964 and 1965 method with some modifictions.Myself and my colleagues at IISS followed these methods.
