Please suggest how to model a design when its still in the idea phase, i.e. when i haven't yet decided the parameters of the design but just want to visualize the look of the design?

Modelica, AADL, and SysML (among many others) all have facilities for modeling systems at the conceptual level
there are many other tools, not quite so well developed

Thanks Abdulla for the link. Although i was looking for something more specific. Probably specifying my problem statement will help in getting a better response. I am designing a novel electrical motor, but the exact parameters cannot be decided yet. Since it being a complicated design, i am looking for solutions where i can visualize the conceptual design of the machine and refine it before entering the stage of defining the parameters.
I suggest Minitab software. using response surface methodology. also, there is a useful book by J. p. Morgan name design of experiments. exploring the use of minitab software.
