Almost all the major qualitative software programs (including ATLAS.ti as well) are about the same in terms of user friendliness. What probably makes the biggest difference is their documentation and online support (videos etc.).
In your case I would look at the websites for each and see if they have some resources that are devoted to your specific needs.
MAXQDA are much easier to learn to use than NVIVO is (although I have not used the most recent version of NVIVO).
MAXQDA is easy to retrieve and code data (option to code with colour-coded text, or even emojis). The thing I really like is the 'creative coding' option which allows me to visually arrange and rearrange my codes into data trees which can help in theory building.
