I wanted to acquire data from a torque sensor using a USB based Digital I/O module. I tried to use the data acquisition toolbox in Matlab for this purpose. But the USB module was not recognised by the Analog Input recorder .Also, I couldn't find any supporting hardware packages from the library. Is there any other method/software to acquire the signals in my laptop or the only way is to purchase the software provided by the manufacturer of the USB interface? It would be great, if someone could support me on this matter. Thanks in advance.

The usb module should be recognised in the application software being used. If it is not being recognised it is probably due to non availability of the driver for that particular software. Make sure that the driver is installed. If the data acquisition module is not recognised in your desired software first check the device in the windows device manager. If it shows the device name check the property. Install driver if not installed. If the module is of well reputed company generally all the drivers for different platforms are available online.
Once everything intalled properly it should work.
