I want to study the dynamic behavior of a complex power system, including some HVDC links. In which simulation software can I study this?
Hi Dear Mohammad
I think DIgSILENT PowerFactory (14.1.3) is the best for your simulation
Currently I am using Matlab simulink association with SimPow system and DigSilent Power factory.
besides Matlab, the PSCAD a good option for simulating HVDC, for instance, with better transmission line models.

For simulation of part head end - DC line - head end is Simplorer ideal.
If you want to see whole process and transient in HVDC system, PSCAD/EMTDC is the best choice. You can make your own user defined model through Fortran and C and This process has already been verified many HVDC system.
For simulation of part head end - DC line - head end is also Portunus ideal.
Yet another vote for PSCAD/EMTDC here. This is _the_ tool that all the major HVDC manufacturers are using for most transient studies in real projects.
PSCAD/EMTDC.
dear all
thank you for your ans
Dear Mohammad
you can try MATLAB, PSCAD, EMTP-rv, Neplan
good luck

When I tried to energy minimization my system, I got fatal error as below. Fatal error: Atomtype opls_116 not found Although I've already added this line: ; include water #include "oplsaa.ff/spc.itp" to [molecultype] directive in my topology.
