I think your question is very important Mauro. Personal assistants play a valuable role after discharge.
They are important to support improvement and to help with the rehabilitation process. However, I believe you are talking about trained personal assistants, not necessarily family support, right?
PA's support on patient improvement and everyday tasks is essential to improve patient quality of life, however the other side of the coin may be dramatic. There are number indicating high volume of personal assistants who burn-out after their first months of work. This seems to be worse if they take care of a senior with mental illness. What is your experience on that?
