In a scale development study, may I use PLS instead of SEM to validate the instrument? I have problem with sample size, the population is unknown and I have a notional knowledge that PLS might serve the same purpose as SEM but with smaller size.
Refer to the book by Hair et al(2014) on PLS SEM for ascertaining which SEM to use. Also I am sharing a link which might be helpful to you. You are right the PLS SEM may be applied on small sample but it should not be the only justification.
Sarita Sood is right. You may use PLS SEM A software SmartPLS can be used for this, this software is not sensitive to the Distributional assumptions and sample size.
