I have never written any book till the date but I think that Springer, Elsevier, Taylor Francis, Wiley and Sons, McGraw Hill, IET, CRC Press etc may be good publishers.

I think any big and famous publisher that has journals listed in Thomson Reuters Web of Science ISI list is confident to publish your work in, like Springer, Elsevier, Taylor Francis, Wiley and Sons... etc. McGraw Hill, CRC Press ... etc may be good publishers.

Dear Lidia Mandru , it depends in which language you want to publish your work. Is it in English or in another language (e.g. French, Spanish, Chinese). If it is English then you can follow the list Khaled G. Mohamed suggested. I think for German publishing houses of French or Chinese you have to look somewhere else. And then of course there is the question of you subject, what do you want to publish? Is it science or is it e.g. fiction or books for educational purposes. Because all the publishing houses have different departments and specialized editors. You have to learn to know the structure of every publishing house. Or you can look for an agent who can help you. But you will have to pay the agent. Be careful though, look for a good one.
But nowadays you have other possibilities such like Amazon to publish your work and share the revenues with them. In that case it is good to look for an editor to help you improve your content and style. Another possibility is to self-publish your work.
