I want to test an electrolyte for calcium battery in which calcium nitrate is the salt but I want to use organic solvent.
Since, i'll be using calcium metal as anode so I cannot use aqueous electrolyte.
I want to test calcium nitrate as a salt in organic solvents.

due to the characteristics of the calcium nitrate salt, in an organic medium, it will be soluble in alcohol and acetone.
As highly soluble in water, it demands a polar solvent or at least a mixture with polar characteristics to increase the solubility.

Even the tetrahydrate of this compound is highly soluble in water, with a solubility of 1290 grams per litre at a temperature of 20 degrees celsius. This compound is also soluble in ammonia, ethanol, and methanol. However, it is much more soluble in methanol than ethanol. The solubility of this compound in ethanol at 40 degrees celsius is 62.9 grams per 100 grams of ethanol. Calcium nitrate salt is an inorganic salt will be insoluble in organic solvent. Howefer , in presence of phase transfer catalyst crown ethers , it might be soluble in organic phase like ether.
