Hermann Gruenwald, Sir, no issue whether it's Elsevier or some other publisher. Here, one thing is more important for me. Other than Martin Christopher and Eli Goldratt, I prefer Indian authors like Sunil Chopra and Mahadram as their approach is quite simple and comprehensive especially for the beginners like me.
This one is highly recommended - Applied use of the Supply Chain Operations Reference model (SCOR) Supply Chain Excellence: "A Handbook for Dramatic Improvement Using the SCOR Model" Author: Peter Bolsdorff. You find it on Amazon or from ASCM.org
Logistics and Supply Chain Management by Martin Christopher would be my first choice for an easy way into SCM. Despite being written in 1992 it gives a good overview of the key elements of the subject and is an easy read.
