i want to know the advantages & disadvantages of mechanical (specifically sand blasting) & chemical finishes. The end product for finishing is composite sheet as well as ingot having main matrix of Aluminum Alloy6061. furthermore also want cost comparision of both techniques.

Very different processes with different applications. Surface roughness after sand blasting will generally be higher, while the compressive stress imposed by impacted particles may increase surface hardness and retard fatigue crack growth. In chemical finishing, you generally have a smoother finish, but it also highly depends on the reagent.
It actually depends on many factors; application, quality of the as-received surface, thickness and the next step.
sandblast needs some attention and depends on the technician, on the other hand, chemical needs safety precautions......

Sand blasting is a fundamental and age old technique compared to chemical finishing. As said in earlier comments/answers, it depends on the application. Sand blasting is a good technique to remove the corrosive/rusted layers of metals right from the root and it is non reactive to the parent material. Chemical processing is a compulsion where one needs to preserve the thickness of the metals and further removal of the metal will render the design useless example fuel tanks.
thanks all. @Mohamed Gobara actually i have to produce a sheet from billet after forging and rolling process and i need final sheet with good surface without changing the properties after getting from rolling process.
