Hello all, Please I will like to know which primer is best suited for the amplification of the 16S rDNA of a phenotypically identified bacterial isolate. Is it the Universal bacterial primer 1492R or the domain bacteria-specific primer?
I agree with Yemendzhiev. That pair is one of the most extensively use and generate an almost complete 16S gene. But if you are working with tags the V4 and V2 reagions are a good option as well. In this case we can find the easily find the primers using in NGS studies.
