There are lots of nanofluids which show extraordinary heat transfer enhancement. So my question is what is the best nanofluid among them which can be used for cooling purpose in HV's?
The highest heat transfer enhancement, both conductive and convective, of all nanofluids is currently obtained using carbon nanotube nanofluids, far superior to any spherical particle nanofluids (eg. Al, Cu, Fe, Ti). Most nanoparticles mixed only with water have sedimentation problems, which is why the nanoparticles/nanotubes should be suspended in a water/glycol or water/oil mixed fluid, mostly composed of water.
i do accept Sylvio de Freitas, the major problem with nano fluids is that the sedementation time (very less). most of the nano fluids are metal based only. the density of the nano particles is much. if the automobile is at rest for longer the time, after start the nano particles should me mixed thoroughly with the base fluid. this is the major hurdle to cross. if it is solved by any means then based on the cost affordability one may use any nano fluid. best one costs much and very good thermally conductive and good heat transfer.
right now application point of view one cannot decide "This is best"
Dear Sir, there are several type that showed good heat transfer enhancement and for instance, SWCNT or MWCNT have superior thermal conductivity greater than oxide metal or ceramic, new researcher proved that Aluminum Nitride ALN is one of the promise type of ceramic family. in addition, it has special properties such as high thermal conductivity, high electrical resistance, corrosion and erosion resistance and because of these properties it is used in various engineering application.
