I am looking for a good methodology for SEO for library portals .I found in network some resources, but not SEO Methodology in this academic context. I´ll appreciate any advice in this topic.

I cannot give advice unless you tell us your proficiency in SEO. Perhaps more importantly what are you trying to accomplish? Campus wide, community wide, world wide... a specific genre, each title etc... There are some 80 or so ranking factors for each page, then there are some 40+ factors for links. You can learn a lot from the blackhat forums, you don't need to apply the dark stuff however.
