I have read literature from different sources as well solved examples. However, it was not possible for me to identify best algorithm for a given set of data. The clusters created with one algorithm are totally different from other algorithm for the same set of data. Request you to help me in identifying a right algorithm for a given set of data.
you can combine any optimization algorithm with any clustering technique for example a Genetic Algorithm with k-means to find the best clusters based on minimizing the the mean measure using euclidean distance.

if you interesting for spatial cluster analysis check the free software GEODA, otherwise there are a lot of techniques of clustering (some of them there are already mentioned from Febri, Adel and Andrea)
