The current technological revolution described as Industry 4.0 is determined by the development of, inter alia, the following technologies of advanced information processing, including, among others: Big Data database technologies, cloud computing, machine learning, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, Business Intelligence and other advanced technologies Data Mining processing. These technologies are increasingly developed in enterprises and are applied, among others, in the processes of logistics improvement.

The advanced information processing technologies mentioned above find more and more applications in various fields of industry, production of goods, provision of services and the aim of improving logistics, including supply, production and distribution logistics. The number of industries, fields of economic activity and sectors of the national economy is growing, in which advanced information processing technologies typical of the present fourth technological revolution, known as Industry 4.0, are applied. The use of information technologies allows enterprises to improve the processes of traditionally implemented logistics of supplying production, production and distribution factors necessary for production as well as logistics of information services offered on-line by technological corporations.

In my opinion, currently cloud computing technologies, the Internet of Things, mobile devices connected to the Internet, learning machines, Big Data database systems are used to improve the logistics processes of enterprises, including supply, production and distribution logistics. Some large technology companies also build and develop technologies of artificial intelligence and Business Intelligence analytics to improve logistics and its offer of information services available mainly via the Internet.

Dear Colleagues and Friends from RG, Many economic data show that the impact of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus pandemic causing Covid-19 on the global economy is very large. The high probability of potential recession of the global economy and in many countries in 2020 is currently estimated. Well, in 2020 it is no longer trade wars that will be the main factor in the decline in international trade, international capital flows and other factors of production, international economic cooperation. In 2020, the main factor behind the decline in international trade, international capital flows and other production factors, international economic cooperation, etc. will be the development of the SARS-CoV-2 Coronavirus pandemic causing Covid-19. The SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus pandemic that causes Covid-19 disease also affects logistics processes and chains. For example, if the international SARS-CoV-2 pandemic has been temporarily interrupted due to the Coronavirus pandemic, including intermodal logistics chains, some production processes may be transferred to other countries. This may lead to a situation where international corporations, which have divided their production processes in previous years into stages implemented in factories and factories located in other countries now due to problems related to supply logistics, may return back to the concept of concentration of all manufacturing processes in the same countries, in countries where the company has its headquarters or in countries far away from each other significantly shorter distances. This can lead to many factories returning from developing countries to developed countries despite slightly or significantly higher production costs. In this way, the risk of supply, supply logistics, etc. will be significantly reduced. If such international economic processes are carried out on a large scale in the following months and years, then the processes of economic globalization will reverse. In my opinion, the current pandemic SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus can potentially cause the most changes in logistics in the situation of long, complex, intermodal, international logistics supply and supply chains operating so far. In addition, the SARS-CoV-2 Coronavirus pandemic has accelerated the digitization of the economy. Currently (April 2020), in many industries and sectors, more and more companies are developing their activities via the Internet, remotely providing their services and selling their products under e-commerce. Many companies that did not do this before now switch to remote activities, carried out electronically via the Internet. The importance of Internet marketing, including viral marketing, Real-Time marketing conducted on social media portals is increasing. The development of electronic banking is also increasing, including online and mobile banking. Therefore, traditional logistics can be increasingly replaced by logistic business models in which some or all components of logistics processes are implemented via the Internet. In this situation, the importance of e-logistics is growing.

Dear Dariusz Prokopowicz ,

I completely agree with you on the willingness of companies to relocate part of their production in the developed countries where they have their headquaters and as close as possible to the end customers. In certain fields (chemistry, textile, ...) a sort of national feeling is also revealed. This will no doubt give governments ideas to encourage these initiatives with a view to creating jobs locally, real or not.

I can't say that globalization is on the decline but it will be interesting for economists to follow what will happen in large groups in the coming months.
