ISI became Web of Science (WoS), which until a couple of years ago belonged to Thomson Reuters. From 2016 WoS became part of the Clarivate Analytics company. Therefore, all of them are considered as an identity of the scientific researcher, and their importance varies from one researcher to another, except that the most widespread and important are ISI and Scopus.

first of all, since 2016 the owner of Web of Science is Clarivate Analytics, not Thomson Reuters. Second, WoS CC (Core Collection) has now 4 databases (the last - Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) was created in 2016, and it has not for its journals WoS main metrics (such as impact-factor), as also journals in Arts & Humanities Citation Index have not this main (and some others) indicator. The Scopus database calculates metrics for all indexed journals. Scopus also includes actually all journals from WoS CC (first three main databases). So Scopus is more complete and easy for searching for authors... WoS is traditionally chosen by scientists because it is well known during more than 50 years after its creation as printed Science Citation Index in 1964. Scopus was created only in 2004. The competition is high between the owners of these databases. But they are different. It seems that useful to know and use both depending on what you want.

Google Scholar is most preferred the database .It is very easy to add manually.But Scopus and wos are subscribed content.If you missing documents you have to approach of the publishers.

Scopus covers more on Engineering and Technology, Whereas Web of Science Covers Arts, Science and Humanities. Each of the database have its own criteria of indexing mechanism. Based on our requirement , we can opt the databases.

Hello. It is important to establish the differences between these concepts.

- Indexing is a validation and accreditation process of the editorial quality of a scientific journal. There are only two validated databases that index and generate citation indicators:

a) Scopus (from the Elsevier company) and

b) Web of Science (from the Clarivate Analytics company).

The ISI concept has been out of use for decades. Thomson Reuters is no longer the company that owns Web of Science.

- Google Scholar is a service from the Google company that uses its search engines to match information associated with a particular author or title and offers a particular citation measurement system.

- Google Scholar is totally different from the services offered by Scopus and Web of Science.

- Finally, if a scientific journal claims to be indexed in Google Scholar, a predatory journal alert must be placed since this system does not index. You can only index Scopus and Web of Science.
