I have been looking for some papers talking about duplex formation but it is still unclear for me which is the strength of formation of these duplexes or if it is sequence-dependent. If you could provide some papers, that would be very helpful too!

It is mostly sequence dependent based on hydrogen bonding and base stacking. The ribose/deoxyribose in the backbone only impacts on rates of degradation. This paper has references you may find useful (Article Parallel-stranded DNA and RNA duplexes: structural features ...

DNA-DNA duplex might be more stable as A=U pairing is a weak one and RNA contains good amount of A, U and some abnormal nucleotides. RNA-RNA and RNA-DNA bonding may de-anneal more easily than DNA-DNA duplex.
