The growing point is removed when the fruit is setting about 15d after pollination, so there are no new leaves when the fruit is mature, and no symptom on the leaves. We speculate it may be PRSV(papaya ringspot virus). Do you think? If so, how to prevent the virus infection when the seeds are sowed?
I am agree with you, I think it is papaya ringspot virus (PRSV). It can be transmitted by mechanical and aphids. First, you have to corroborate the virus by ELISA test. If you have the virus, you can control aphids incidence (insecticide). Virus control in field it is not easy, so that, farmers has a lot of interest in resistant varieties. Regards
I am agree with Zuo Xianhong and Juan Pablo Manzur. We saw the syptom on fruit. I think this is papaya ringspot virus (PRSV). In Viet nam, this is a problem on Papaya. Best regards.
