A few years ago (lets say before 2009) there was an increasing interest on spin injection devices based on diluted magnetic semiconductors, especially after the theoretical prediction that ferromagnetism in these materials could be attained above room temperature. Now it seems that most of the experimental findings were due to sample contamination, and that the interest has dropped a lot. So, it is interesting to discuss which findings still hold on this field, and what are possible new materials in this field.
