I'm not sure if I'm vague by saying it is activity. I'm not sure if the answer is fungus, poisonous or not. It will surely be poisonous, but , it might be also edible (mushrooms, Boletus). Maybe in sandy beaches could be crabs. I wish I could fond someone to support my answer.
