The North American porcupine, Erethizon dorsatum, hosts many nematodes but not ascarids commonly. Baylisascaris procyonis has been shown to cause neurological larval migrans in this host, but it does not harbor the adult worms. Wellcomia (oxyurid) and some filarial species are common nematodes from this host.
