I am engaged in research in the field of study of images. I recommend that you turn to study of an image in Non-Traditional Psychoanalysis and works by Andrey Davydov and Olga Skorbatyuk. You might be interested in their point of view (or to be more precise, in results of many years of research) that an image is the basis of functioning of psychophysiology of Homo sapiens.
