Which are the best methods/experiments to study internalization of nanoparticles? i am aware of Cryo-TEM. Any other suggestions ?

I want to deduce the pathway of internalization of protein coated and folic acid coated metal oxide nanoparticles. Which other technique other than Cryo-TEM can be used, keeping the cost incurred in mind (as I am a research student)
