I am working on agrobacterium mediated transformation on tomato and I usually use meropan (50 ppm) for treating the plant after infection but i found that the plant is not doing well after treatment, is there a better antibiotic to use for this situation?
I agree with Prof. Yuan-Yeu. Carbenicillin and Cefotaxime are mostly used for warding off Agrobacterium tu-mefaciens. This attached resource would be very helpful to you. Best regards

@ Ayoob, I also used 500 mg/L carbenicillin or cefotaxime to eliminate Agrobacterium at beginning (first months) for plant genetic transformation. Then graduate reduce the concentration of the antibiotics in the medium for Agrobacterium control.

We are using cefotaxime and hygromycin to control the growth of agrobacterium.

@ Beemnet Mengesha Kassahun, are you sure that the 'hygromycin' used in your project is for Agrobacterium control? In many cases, it is for transgenic plant selection (where the transgenic plants harber a hygromycin-resistant gene).
