To the particular case of Chile, a film like NO (Pablo Larraín, 2012), show a new (and old) way to see the (formal) transition to democracy. Can make the comparision with Goodbye Lenin! (Wolfgang Becker, 2003).

I myself would ask the question the following way: what methods are used in the film industry, that might be taken as political propaganda. And certainly, critical theory is relevant here, deconstructing the works' ideological undertones.
I would defintiely use Susan Sontag and Roland Barthes, too.
